The MSU Library is committed to honoring copyright law and to assisting University faculty, staff, students and affiliates in the legal use of protected information. The materials and links accessible from these pages are intended to provide users with an overview of copyright law and answers to frequently asked questions. While the MSU Library cannot give legal advice, the Copyright Librarian can attempt to provide more in depth answers to particular copyright questions. In addition, the Library offers a free permissions search service that contacts copyright holders for clients.
